Market Segment Manager – Retail

Theatro is a Dallas-based start-up software company pioneering the use of voice-controlled mobility solutions for hourly workers, enabling “Heads Up and Hands Free” customer interactions. At the core of our solution is our communications platform that empowers associates and HQ teams with the ability to communicate instantly with any employee, or any enterprise application, from anywhere! Along with our software solution, we have developed a small, 1 ½oz Wi-Fi wearable computer that allows associates to engage with our software apps. We’re venture backed and have an impressive list of top tier retailers on our roster.

As the Market Segment Manager reporting to the SVP of Marketing, you will research and define how the company’s core products are positioned, used, and priced in the retail market segment. You will be responsible for influencing our Product Management team with insights on new features and new products specific for the retail market segment. This role will work closely with sales, marketing, product management and customer experience teams to analyze and understand the retail market, the product lifecycle to help launch new products and improve our existing solution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform market research to help shape the strategy and vision for our product roadmap for the retail market segment. This will include researching product landscapes, features, benefits, distribution channels, pricing strategies, and competitive analysis.
  • Identify actionable insights from primary and secondary data that lead to key product recommendations/
  • Create technical user stories and business requirements for the development team.
  • Set up and analyze A/B tests for new experimental features, generate and size opportunities to prioritize features, and define key performance metrics.
  • Create cohort analysis and segmentation strategies to ensure our products are targeted to the right buyers
  • Participate in new product development meetings and assist as necessary with product development.
  • Drive product demand forecast planning for both software and hardware solutions.

ABOUT YOU

  • You are an accomplished marketing manager who has successfully marketed software solutions in the retail vertical
  • You are a retail segment expert who is at home working in Excel
  • You have a bias toward executing on tasks and projects, especially in dynamic and rapidly changing environments
  • You are an exceptional writer and can effectively express the benefits of Theatro
  • You are an avid researcher and fill knowledge gaps to make informed decisions about product direction
  • You have prior experience working either at a startup or in retail technology

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, marketing, product management / design, or related field
  • Retail software industry expert
  • Strong writing skills to create reports about target markets and product opportunities, as well as user stories and product requirements for our development team.
  • Can translate complex market research data into manageable and useful product and market insights that drive results.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in marketing, product management, product design, UX, program management, or an adjacent role
  • Proven history of creating effective marketing strategies in retail
  • Excellent time management and project prioritization skills
  • Knowledgeable in emerging retail technology including IoT, task management, indoor analytics, and/or communication tools
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience with agile/lean software development practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset

Sales Executive

  • Teaching prospects about our implementation cycle
  • Sharing the compelling benefits we provide with confidence and conviction

Our headquarters is based near Dallas, Texas, but we’re recruiting people who live near any major airport in the US. Like we said: travel. It’ll happen. A lot. A large part of your compensation will be based on your success in winning business for Theatro.

Tier 1 Customer Support

Do you have a passion for helping people? Theatro is a Dallas-based start up revolutionizing mobility solutions for hourly workers. We are looking to add a true people-person to our Customer Support Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing incoming calls and customer service inquiries.
  • Identifying and assessing customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction.
  • Answer calls and understand when to escalate a ticket.
  • Ability to resolve specific client issues under tight time constraints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with peers and customers, internal and external.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to be punctual, responsible, and prompt.
